My Fair Lady

Audrey Hepburn just might be the epitome of class. She studied to be a ballerina and a model before becoming an actress, and one of the world's best known ones at that! She is one of only ten people who have won an Oscar, an Emmy, a Grammy, and a Tony Award. After her acting career, she became passionate about humanitarian work. I think she is an amazing role model, and is just as revolutionary as Twiggy (style-wise). Here are some pictures!

Twist And Shout!

I have been hopelessly sick with the flu this whole week, so I figure I should inform my loyal 4 (really, 3) followers and anyone else who wanders into my humble blog what immediately popped into my head when I thought I combine "sick" and the other contents of my mind. (I hope the title of this post didn't give it away...) That's right, as most Beatle fans know, John Lennon gave his crazy amazing vocal to "Twist And Shout," when he was coming down with a cold! The whole album (Please Please Me) took a total of 9 hours and 45 minutes to record, and "Twist And Shout" was the last song. John had had a cold all day, and his voice gave out almost immediately after recording it.

Here it is, if you haven't heard it (shockingly!):

Of course, I have to add photos!

Yes, We're Going To A Party Party...

I believe the 1960s and '70s were probably the best time to party, what with all the drugs and interesting people...
I doubt many of the people in these pictures remember them being taken, which is a weird thought! Anyways, enjoy!

Okay, maybe not a REAL party...

Jackie Kennedy

Surprisingly, not all of my obsessions have a basis in the Beatles... I also LOVE all things Kennedy, particularly Jackie! Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis was first lady to JFK until 1963, then married Aristotle Onassis in 1968 until 1975. She was a style icon throughout my favorite decade (60s!) and then a book editor. The trends she popularized in the early 60s were A-line skirts, big ROUND glasses, designer Oleg Cassini, and of course, the pillbox hat! Here are some pictures of this unique, graceful lady:

P.S.
I saw a commercial for a Kennedy home video special on TLC set to a cover of the Beatles song, "In My Life." I nearly died. That's why I got the idea to blog this, actually... I guess all my posts ARE rooted in Beatles.

Mary Quant

Mary Quant: a mod designer of swinging London. She popularized the miniskirt (and named it!), patterned tights, and hot pants. Her models included Twiggy and Pattie Boyd. All of this happened after she went to college for illustration and opened a store, Bazaar, with her husband. She might just be the most influential designer of the 60's! :)
